Should I shave my arm hairs?
Absolutely not!
It seems like more and more girls think they need to shave the hair on their arms just to look beautiful. But those soft hairs on your arms don't make you look less beautiful or sexy at all, and hairless arms look weird and baby-like.
It took me many years to realize that the hair on my arms actually made me more attractive to men. The sooner you realize it, too, the better.
It's natural for us to wonder what aspects of ourselves others find attractive or unattractive, and to be fearful or embarrassed of "standing out."
We've been "brainwashed" by the shaving and hair removal industries into believing beauty is hairless. Nadine Ajaka from The Atlantic describes how we've been conned into spending over $10,000 removing hair over our lifetime. In fact, in the late 19th century, European-Americans were quite fond of fuzziness and were astonished by the "strange obsession" Native Americans had for hairless skin.
Most women have some amount of fuzziness. There are a few reasons that fact isn't well known. First, our lighter and softer vellus hair is usually difficult to see except up close. It's even often difficult to see the longer fuzzies that some women have. It's much easier to see your own fuzziness than that of other girls'. Second, camera and video quality, until recently, was too poor to see fuzziness on most women, especially those with lighter color hair. Third, the "Photoshopping" models removes any traces of fuzziness. So, we haven't been used to seeing fuzzy women.
Fuzziness is part of what makes women attractive and contrasts with men. Our body hair is soft and beautiful, especially when it glistens in the sunlight.
Fuzziness also conveys youthfulness. Older women have less body hair as they age. You don't want to look like Grandma, do you?
As always, it's absolutely up to you what you do with your body. Just don't shave your arms because you think it'll make you more attractive. Or do it and see how weird the bare skin looks. It'll always grow back, just as it was before.
Embrace your fuzzy!
